Update Kitchen better remodel

If your kitchen has been looking less than appetizing as of late, then it’s time to give an overhaul before the holiday season comes into full swing. Outdated colors or grimy appliances can really take away from the overall look of your kitchen, so its time to look around and make note of your problems areas. And don’t worry, updating your kitchen doesn’t have to be expensive. There are several ways to give it whole new look on a budget. Check below for list of easy and inexpensive ways to modernize the look of your kitchen.

1. Cabinets. These are easy to neglect because you rarely take notice of them when you’re quickly grabbing a dish or glass, but if they’re outdated, it can really take away from the overall look of your kitchen. If you haven’t given them a thorough scrub down in a while, then that’s a good place to start. But if they still appear dingy, then you should either re-paint them or re-face them. If you plan to re-paint, you’ll need to sand them down and choose a neutral color or a faux finish. If you decide that they need re-facing, consider using frosted glass doors. They’ll give your kitchen a modern look and they’ll be relatively inexpensive.

2. Cabinet Hardware. Changing your current hinges and knobs is a quick and cheap way to really update the look of your kitchen. Go to your local hardware store and invest in some chrome or shiny aluminum hardware. It will go well with any other updates you choose to do.

3. Floors. If you’re floors are years old, then it’s probably time to replace them. Nothing can make a kitchen look dirtier than the wrong flooring. In general kitchens are square-shaped, so replacing the worn out flooring with new vinyl tiles will be a breeze. Vinyl comes in a wide variety of patterns and styles. And you can purchase self-adhesive tiles, so doing it yourself won’t be a problem.

4. Lights. If you’re kitchen doesn’t have the proper lighting, it can be a real eyesore. You want your kitchen to appear bright and inviting, so consider adding more light fixtures. Track lighting is a great way to do this. Also consider investing in some led lighting. It will be cost efficient and last much longer than traditional light bulbs.

Updating your kitchen doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg. Just be smart and access the areas in your kitchen that need to most alteration. With just a few simple steps, you’re kitchen will be looking great this holiday season.
